Osbert's Indonesian Recipes

The following foods are typical Indonesian foods which you can find almost everywhere throughout Indonesia. These foods are not only well-known, but it is also delicious and easy to make. My mother often cooks these foods during dinner since it is pretty easy. Here are the recipes:
Ayam goreng (Indonesian Fried Chicken)

Ingredients:
  • 1 md chicken
  • 1/2 cup Tamarind water
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • A pinch of chili powder
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1 clove garlic

Marinate the chicken for about 2 hours. Then, deep fry it.

If you want to make it spicy, you can add more chili powder on it. This fried chicken can be even more delicious if it is eaten with fried rice.
Pisang goreng (Indonesian Fried Banana)

Ingredients:
  • 4 eggs
  • 12 tablespoon flour
  • 4 bananas
  • Oil (for deep frying)
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Water

Mix the eggs with flour and half cup water
Mash the bananas and mix with flour and egg mixture
Deep-fry banana and flour-egg mixture
Drain on absorbent paper and dust with cinnamon sugar

This Indonesian style food is very suited as a dessert. It is tasty and delicious, and it is preferably eaten after being cooked.
