Typical Summer Meal

gado gadoSince we're currently having summer, I think i will just talk about some typical summer meals from my country which is Indonesia. You can also find indonesian food in Seattle also. The food that i'm going to discuss is gado-gado (Indonesian salad). Gado-gado has been an Indonesian traditional food that almost everyone loves eating. Not only is it low in calories, it is the most famous salad the land of Indonesia offers. It has an interesting combo of textures and flavours since it comes from both raw and cooked veggies that are served with a spicy peanut sauce. It is also served with baked potatoes, tofu, boiled egg, string beans, and lots more, depending on what kind of fresh cooked or raw veggies used. It may be served hot in winter or at room temperature in summer. It makes a perfect light lunch on its own or a full meal when combined with Vegetarian Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) and other side dishes. Most people don't want to eat fatty food during a hot summer and do want to watch their calorie intake. So this gado gado will be the prefect summer meal for people who are on a diet or who loves to try something new and eat salads. I recommend this gado gado. It has low in calories, low in fat, no cholesterol, low in sodium, and rich in fiber. So for those who want to try something new for their summer meal, try this gado- gado---it's perfect!
